Death
After performing at the Hippodrome theatre in Bristol England Eddie Cochran, Sharon Sheeley (Fiancée) and Gene Vincent jumped into a chauffeured Ford Consul Mk.II, (a 4-cylinder Zephyr) to make their way back to London. The trip took them through a variety of towns and while travelling through Chippenham, in western England, their vehicle struck a light pole at Rowden Hill. Eddie Cochran was thrown through the windshield and suffered massive head trauma. Gene Vincent broke some ribs, collarbone and injured his leg, which would leave a permanent limp. Sharon broke her pelvis. He was rushed to St. Martin's Hospital, in Bath and died at 4:10 that afternoon.
